Screen + voice recording
Record a browser tab, a window or your whole screen, with optional mic narration. Explain the bug in your own words.
Like Loom, but for bugs. One click records your screen, console logs, network requests and device info, then turns it all into a single link.
Free for individuals No credit card Chrome, Edge, Brave & Arc
How it works
No more screenshots, guesswork, or 20-message threads asking which browser you were on.
Hit the Bugcap icon and reproduce the bug. Talk through it with your mic, just like a Loom.
Console logs, network requests, clicks and device info are captured automatically, synced to the video timeline.
Get one link instantly, or export the report as PDF, Markdown or a ZIP with the video.
Features
Record a browser tab, a window or your whole screen, with optional mic narration. Explain the bug in your own words.
Every log, warning and uncaught error with full stack traces, timestamped to the exact second in the video.
Every fetch and XHR request with method, status, timing and size. Failed requests include the response body, so the failing 500 stands out.
Browser, OS, viewport, locale, connection and URL attached to every report. No more "which version?"
Clicks, form changes, submits and page navigations are logged as steps, synced to the video. Typed values are never recorded.
Your report is ready the moment you stop recording. Paste the link anywhere and teammates can watch instantly.
Before & after
Checkout is broken again
Works on my machine. Which browser? What were the steps?
Not sure, I just clicked pay?
Can you send a screenshot and the console output?
What's a console?
TypeError in submitPaymentPOST /api/checkout 500FAQ
Nothing leaves your browser until you create a link. Typed values are never stored in the steps, and password fields are skipped. The video, console logs and failed network responses are uploaded as recorded, so review a report before sharing it. Console and network activity from shortly before you pressed record can be included, marked "pre". Shared reports use unguessable links that aren't indexed by search engines, and anyone with the link can view them.
Bugcap is a Chrome extension and needs Chrome 116 or later. Other Chromium browsers that install extensions from the Chrome Web Store, such as Edge and Brave, may also work. Firefox and Safari aren't supported.
Bugcap is free. Recording and local exports (PDF, Markdown, ZIP) need no account. A free account can keep up to 10 shareable links active at a time, with recordings up to 3 minutes long.
Shared links stay up until you delete them. Delete a link from your dashboard to free a slot for a new one.
No. Anyone with the link can watch the video and inspect the logs, network requests and device info right in their browser.
Install Bugcap and turn "it's broken" into a fix-ready report your developers will love.
